Faqs

Are Composite Garden Offices insulated?

Our garden rooms make for the perfect home office/studio solution because they are insulated which means they can be used all year round. Some customers opt for a standard oil-filled radiator to help keep warm in the colder months, but it’s worth considering upgrading to air-conditioning option for complete climate control.

Will a Garden Office add value to your property?

Yes they do and property experts have reported they have experienced the dramatic effect the pandemic has had on house buyers. Working from home is now so widespread that lists of priorities have changed for house buyers and home offices are mentioned in conversations with prospective buyers.

Lots of people are no longer commuting to work every day but like to leave the house to go to work. A garden office provides that physical disconnection between work and home life.

How secure are Garden Offices?

As standard, our composite garden rooms are fitted with double glazed PVCU French featuring high-security multi-point locking meaning your office equipment can locked away securely at the end of your workday.

Our double glazing is toughened glass and able to withstand everyday knocks. Why not consider upgrading to Aluminium bi-folding doors and slimline windows to truly customise your garden room.

Is planning permission needed for a Garden Office?

Planning permission is generally not required for garden offices! Garden Studios such as ours are classed as outbuildings that fall within your permitted development rights. Some properties in the UK don’t have permitted development rights, in which case planning permission would be required.

For peace of mind, we recommend checking the government’s online planning portal or visit your local council with a rough layout of your garden, and a photograph of the garden room you would like because more often than not the council will give you, ‘a letter of permitted development’.

Can I create a multi-purpose Garden Office?

Yes, you can, the way our Garden Studios are manufactured allow for them to be customised to your exact needs. Creating a multi-purpose Garden Studios is a great way to utilise your new space.

Add extra windows, partition walls, toilets, showers, sauna, and more, your garden room can easily accommodate any other purpose such as an office/gym, office/cinema, or even an office/bar!
